1995 Chevrolet Corvette 2.0L Petrol · M986 AGL

The most recent MOT test on 19 December 2022 confirmed the vehicle as roadworthy at 128,529 miles, with no defects or advisories recorded. This represents a stable maintenance trend over the past four years, as the preceding test on 20 December 2021 also passed without issue. The absence of recurring faults suggests the vehicle has been kept in a consistent condition, though the lack of advisories does not preclude underlying wear that may not yet have reached MOT failure thresholds. The final test date is now over three years ago, which is well beyond the recommended annual MOT cycle for a vehicle of this age and mileage. The recorded mileage of 128,529 miles over approximately 31 years equates to an average of around 4,146 miles per year, a figure significantly lower than the UK average for vehicles of this era. This suggests either limited use or prolonged periods of storage, which could impact components such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and fuel system integrity due to prolonged immobility. The near-identical mileage between the 2021 and 2022 tests (just 114 miles difference) implies no significant mileage accumulation during the test period, reinforcing the possibility of extended periods off the road. Given the sparse MOT history, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear coil springs and bushes, which are prone to fatigue and corrosion over three decades. The brakes—though not flagged in tests—should be examined for uneven wear or binding calipers, as older vehicles often develop hidden issues in this area. Structural integrity, especially around the sills, wheel arches, and subframe, must be assessed for corrosion, as rust can compromise the vehicle’s safety-critical elements. Additionally, the fuel system, including injectors and fuel lines, warrants attention due to the potential for degradation during periods of inactivity. The absence of advisories does not guarantee these areas are free from wear, so a detailed mechanical check is essential.
