2009 BMW Z4 2.0L Petrol · MD58 XXX

The 2009 BMW Z4 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 24 March 2026 at 72,626 miles passed with no defects recorded, continuing a clean run of annual passes from March 2023 through March 2025. The March 2024 entry shows a failed test at 69,792 miles logged on the same date as a pass at the same mileage with no defects recorded, indicating an administrative or processing anomaly rather than a mechanical fault. No advisories or defects appear across the five-year record. The odometer shows 72,626 miles against seventeen years of age, an average of roughly 4,272 miles per year. The car covered just 1,433 miles between the March 2023 test at 68,282 miles and the March 2024 test, then 1,401 miles to March 2025 at 71,193 miles, and 1,433 miles to the 2026 test. This low, consistent annual use suggests light running with possible extended standing periods. The sparse, clean record gives no evidence of skipped maintenance or rapid accumulation, though long idle spells can conceal perished rubber components not visible in a pass result. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers given the vehicle's age and low-use profile. Standing time accelerates degradation of flexible joints and can cause binding calipers or flat-spotted tyres unseen by the MOT tester. Structural integrity around subframes and sills warrants close checks for corrosion, as the BMW Z4 of this era is prone to hidden rust where moisture collects. The absence of recorded advisories means the DVSA history alone offers no red flags on emissions, exhaust, or drivetrain. Prudent pre-purchase checks remain essential to confirm the clean paper trail reflects genuine condition rather than minimal annual mileage masking dormant wear.
