2023 MG ZS Exclusive T-GDI 1.0L Petrol · MG22 CDA

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on January 9, 2026, confirms it passed without any recorded defects, indicating a stable roadworthiness status at that point. With no prior MOTs available for comparison, there is no evidence of worsening or improving trends in maintenance or mechanical condition. The January 2026 test alone suggests compliance with current UK roadworthiness standards, though the absence of historical data prevents deeper assessment of long-term reliability or wear patterns. The recorded mileage of 18,851 miles over approximately three years—roughly 6,284 miles annually—falls within the typical range for a vehicle of this age. There are no gaps or spikes in mileage to suggest extended periods of disuse or rapid wear, though the sparse MOT history limits broader conclusions about maintenance discipline. The lack of earlier tests means no advisories or recurring issues can be tracked over time. Given the limited MOT data, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of high-wear components not covered by the MOT, such as suspension bushes, coil springs, and steering linkages, which are not routinely tested but critical for handling and safety. The brakes—particularly rear calipers and discs—should be checked for uneven wear or binding, as these are common failure points in low-mileage vehicles with inconsistent service histories. Additionally, a visual inspection of the underbody for corrosion, especially around the wheel arches and sills, is essential, given the MG ZS’s susceptibility to rust in these areas. The exhaust system should also be examined for leaks or damage, as emissions-related faults are not always flagged until they become severe.
