2006 Audi A4 4.2L Petrol · MV56 ACV

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2025-10-29 at 129,823 miles showed a pass, but the prior test on 2025-10-28 at the same mileage resulted in a fail, with no defects recorded. This inconsistency suggests potential administrative error or unreported issues. No defects were noted in the 2024-2023 tests, indicating a stable maintenance record over the past three years. However, the lack of recorded faults in both passing and failing tests raises questions about the reliability of the data. The vehicle’s roadworthiness appears neutral, with no clear evidence of worsening or improving conditions. The 20-year-old Audi A4 has accumulated 129,823 miles, averaging 6,491 miles annually—a typical rate for its age. The MOT history shows consistent testing intervals, with no significant gaps between 2023 and 2025. The 2024-11-05 test at 125,182 miles and the 2023-11-01 test at 120,555 miles indicate steady usage. However, the final two tests in late 2025 occurred within 24 hours, raising questions about the circumstances of the fail and subsequent pass. The absence of defects in all records suggests no immediate mechanical risks, but the sparse data limits detailed analysis. A buyer should inspect the suspension bushes, coil springs, and exhaust emissions system, as these components often degrade in older vehicles. The absence of corrosion reports in the MOT history is positive, but a thorough check of the chassis for rust is advised. Brake discs and calipers should be examined for uneven wear, and the steering system tested for play, as these are common issues in high-mileage Audis. The lack of recorded defects does not eliminate the need for a physical inspection, particularly given the recent inconsistent MOT outcomes.
