2016 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.2L Petrol · MW16 AXS

The vehicle remains in a roadworthy condition with a stable maintenance trend over the last four years. The most recent test on 23 April 2026 at 50,923 miles passed with a single advisory regarding the offside front tyre being close to the legal limit and showing uneven edge wear. This indicates that while basic consumables are reaching the end of their life, the core mechanical and structural components have met DVSA standards without failure across multiple consecutive inspections. The mileage data reveals a significant inconsistency in usage patterns. Between October 2022 and January 2024, the car covered only 4,868 miles, which aligns with its low-average annual profile. However, the period between January 2025 and April 2026 shows a massive spike of 27,277 miles in just 15 months. This rapid accumulation contradicts the historical average of 5,092 miles per year and suggests the vehicle was recently used for heavy motorway commuting. The discrepancy between the 78,200 miles recorded in 2025 and the current reading suggests a data entry error that requires immediate verification. A buyer should prioritize a physical inspection of the suspension geometry and alignment due to the uneven tyre wear noted on the offside front. Such wear patterns often point to tracking issues or worn suspension bushes that a standard MOT might not flag. Given the sudden surge in mileage, the brake discs and pads should be checked for excessive thinning or glazing, as recent high-intensity use places significant stress on the braking system. No history of structural corrosion or exhaust failures appears in the record, but a check for rust remains standard practice for a vehicle of this age.
