The advisories relating to rear brake pipe corrosion in 2017 and 2018 are significant, as corroded brake pipes are a common failure point on older Fords and can ultimately lead to brake fluid loss and test failure; inspect the underbody carefully for any surface rust, flaking or active corrosion along the brake lines, particularly along the rear axle and sill area. The rear sill corrosion advisories from 2021 should also be physically examined, ideally on a ramp, to confirm that the corrosion remains superficial and has not compromised structural integrity. An oil leak, although noted as not excessive, should be monitored for progression, and a simple check for fresh drips beneath the vehicle after standing overnight is advisable before purchase.
