2022 Mercedes-Benz B 200 AMG Line ED Executve D A 1.9L Heavy oil · OBZ 80

This Mercedes-Benz B 200 AMG Line achieved a clean MOT pass on 30 March 2026 with no defects recorded, confirming it currently meets UK roadworthiness standards. The absence of advisories or recurring issues in the single available test suggests the vehicle has not experienced mechanical or structural problems requiring attention during its most recent inspection. However, the test date—just five months prior—means the vehicle remains within the standard 12-month MOT validity window, but buyers should verify whether the current owner has maintained the same diligence since then, particularly for high-mileage components like brakes, suspension, and fluid systems. The recorded mileage of 36,626 miles over approximately four years equates to an average of around 9,156 miles annually, which is typical for a vehicle of this age and model. There are no prior MOT records to compare, so no clear trend of accelerated wear or neglect can be established. While this mileage suggests moderate usage, the lack of historical data means potential wear patterns—such as irregular maintenance or extended periods of disuse—cannot be ruled out. The current owner’s adherence to service intervals and fluid changes will be critical in determining the vehicle’s true condition. Given the sparse MOT history, an in-person inspection should prioritise high-wear components that are not always flagged in a basic MOT. The suspension—particularly coil springs, bushes, and dampers—should be checked for uneven wear or binding, as AMG models often experience accelerated suspension degradation due to performance tuning. Brake systems, including calipers, pads, and discs, warrant scrutiny, especially if the vehicle has been driven aggressively, as binding or uneven wear could indicate past neglect. Corrosion around wheel arches, subframes, and exhaust systems should also be inspected, as the B-Class is prone to rust in these areas despite its aluminium-intensive construction. The absence of MOT advisories or defects does not guarantee long-term reliability, so buyers should confirm the vehicle’s full service history—especially for AMG-specific components like turbochargers, differentials, and cooling systems. A pre-purchase inspection by a specialist Mercedes-Benz technician is strongly advised to assess hidden wear, such as internal engine or drivetrain conditions, which fall outside the scope of a standard MOT. The current pass does not negate the need for thorough due diligence.
