2016 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4L Petrol · OV16 AXD

The latest MOT test for the 2016 Vauxhall Corse shows a passing result with an advisory regarding the offside front shock absorbers exhibiting light misting of oil. This suggests a gradual wear pattern that could affect ride comfort and handling if left unaddressed. The vehicle has accumulated a total of 68,045 miles, which aligns with the expected 6,804 miles per year for its age, indicating a moderate usage level. However, the presence of multiple advisories over the years points to a recurring mechanical concern that should be carefully evaluated during the inspection. The recorded mileage is consistent with the vehicle’s age, but the pattern of service and usage over the past several years reveals a few red flags. Notably, the rear tyres show signs of wear and are nearing the legal limit, with one instance of cracking or perishing detected. This could compromise braking performance and tire longevity. Additionally, the nearside tyres are worn close to the legal limit, and the rear tyres are slightly damaged, which may affect stability and handling. These issues, combined with the advisory about the rear nail in the tyre, warrant immediate attention to prevent further deterioration. For a buyer, it is essential to conduct a thorough physical inspection focusing on tyre condition, especially the sidewall integrity and tread depth, as well as the condition of the braking components. Check the 12V battery for corrosion or leakage, which could indicate failing electrical systems. The 5.2.3 service stamps should be verified to ensure all recommended maintenance was completed. Given the recurring advisories, a professional assessment is advised before purchase to confirm whether these issues are resolvable or if they pose a significant risk to roadworthiness. Overall, while the vehicle has a clean MOT history in recent months, the accumulation of advisories and the physical wear indicators suggest that proactive maintenance and a cautious driving approach are necessary. Buyers should be particularly vigilant about tyre health, brake function, and structural integrity to ensure long-term reliability.
