2006 Honda Jazz 1.3L Petrol · OV56 AOE

The 2006 Honda Jazz presents a stable and improving maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass on 27 October 2025 at 109,961 miles with zero defects recorded. This follows a completely clean pass on 28 October 2024 at 102,085 miles. The vehicle currently meets all required roadworthiness standards, demonstrating that any prior issues have been fully rectified and the mechanical condition remains sound. The recorded mileage equates to an average of roughly 5,498 miles per year, which is notably low for a vehicle of this age. The MOT history confirms this light usage, showing a steady accumulation of approximately 6,600 to 7,900 miles annually between the 2023 and 2025 tests. A minor anomaly exists in the record where the car failed on 19 October 2024 at 102,081 miles with no defects listed, only to pass nine days later on 28 October 2024 at 102,085 miles, also with no defects. The same pattern occurred on 12 October 2023 at 95,427 miles. This suggests administrative or procedural failures rather than mechanical faults, as no actual defects were documented on either occasion. Despite the clean MOT record, low-mileage vehicles of this age often suffer from deterioration caused by prolonged standing rather than wear from use. A buyer should inspect the condition of the tyres thoroughly, checking for sidewall cracking and date codes, as rubber perishes over time regardless of tread depth. Suspension bushes and coil springs require close examination for perishing and corrosion, which can develop even with minimal mileage. Brake discs and calipers should be checked for surface rust and binding, a common issue when a car sits stationary for extended periods. The exhaust system and underbody must be assessed for structural corrosion, ensuring the structural integrity remains uncompromised despite the low annual mileage.
