1997 Westfield 1.8L Petrol · P395 CWP

This Westfield presents a fundamentally sound roadworthiness profile with a stable maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass on the sixteenth of August 2024 at an unspecified mileage. That final test followed a brief administrative hiccup on the same day where an initial failure was logged before being immediately rectified, leaving zero recorded defects on the permanent pass certificate. This clean sheet mirrors previous test outcomes from the ninth of May 2022 and the nineteenth of May 2023, both of which also passed without any advisory items or failure points noted by the examiner. Evaluating the mileage pattern proves challenging due to the complete absence of recorded odometer figures across the entire DVSA dataset. The annual testing cadence remains consistent through May 2022, May 2023, and August 2024, indicating the vehicle has been presented for statutory checks on a regular basis regardless of how infrequently it may be driven. Given the niche nature of low-volume kit cars, sparse mileage accumulation is entirely typical, but prospective buyers must verify the physical odometer reading during a physical inspection to establish annual usage rates. Since the official record is entirely devoid of advisories or mechanical failures across all four logged tests, the previous keeper appears to have maintained the vehicle to a high standard. Kit cars demand rigorous physical scrutiny despite clean MOT histories, as testers do not evaluate custom chassis welds, bespoke wiring looms, or proprietary fiberglass bodywork in the same manner as mainstream production vehicles. A thorough ramp inspection remains essential to examine the tubular space frame for surface corrosion, check the suspension rose joints or bushes for play, and verify the condition of the brake lines and hydraulic components.
