2006 Toyota Hiace 2.5L Diesel · PJ06 EWC

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, maintaining a consistent record of clean passes in recent years. The latest test in October 2025 at 301,363 miles resulted in no defects, indicating that the vehicle is currently meeting the minimum legal safety standards. While a failure was recorded in October 2023, the immediate pass on the same day suggests the necessary repairs were addressed promptly, preventing a trend of escalating mechanical neglect from developing. The mileage data reflects high, consistent usage, averaging approximately 15,000 miles per year over its twenty-year lifespan. Between October 2022 and October 2025, the vehicle covered 27,118 miles, showing a steady accumulation of roughly 9,000 miles annually. This regularity suggests the engine and drivetrain components have been used regularly rather than sitting for long periods, which often helps prevent internal corrosion and brake seizure. The lack of any recorded advisories across the last three tests is unusual for this mileage and suggests that components are being proactively maintained between test intervals. A physical inspection must focus on the structural integrity of the chassis and mounting points, as high-mileage vans frequently 300,000 miles suffer from hidden corrosion that a standard MOT may not catch until it becomes critical. The buyer should specifically examine the suspension bushes and coil springs for signs of excessive wear or fatigue, given the heavy load history. Despite the clean records, checking for fluid leaks and evaluating the condition of the brake discs is also essential, as the MOT record does not reflect the remaining life of these consumable items.
