The most critical issue to address immediately is the MOT status. The last test passed in August 2023, meaning the certificate expired nearly three ago as of today. You cannot legally drive this vehicle on the road until it passes a fresh MOT, so you will need to arrange a trailer or insurance for a drive to a test station. Looking at the history, the car passed in August 2023 just ten days after failing in late July 2023 with no recorded defects. This suggests the failure was likely due to a minor rectification or an administrative issue rather than a serious mechanical fault. Prior to that, the vehicle passed clean tests in 2022 and 2020 with no advisories or defects listed. The mileage of 80,617 miles is roughly typical for a ten-year-old car, averaging about 8,000 miles per year. This usage pattern suggests the engine and drivetrain have likely experienced standard wear rather than the stress of high-mileage commercial use. However, the testing pattern reveals significant gaps. There was a two-and-a-half-year interval between the 2020 and 2022 tests, and now a three-year gap since the last one.
