1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 2.0L Petrol · PXI 2039

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on a consistent history of clean passes over several years. The most recent test conducted on 27 August 2022 at 96,787 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This suggests that the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard or that the mechanical and structural components met all DVSA requirements without flagging any immediate areas of concern during the recorded inspection periods. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a vehicle approaching forty years of age, averaging approximately 2,420 miles per year. Between May 2018 and August 2022, the car covered only 4,018 miles, indicating very infrequent use or long periods of dry-term storage. While this low mileage suggests reduced wear on the drivetrain and engine components, the long intervals between tests often mask issues related to age-related degradation, such as perished rubber seals, dry-rotted hoses, or internal oxidation of brake lines which are not always fully captured by a standard MOT test. Despite the clean electronic record, a buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection focusing on structural integrity. The chassis and suspension areas, where the 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth is prone to corrosion, require a close look for hidden rust that the tester may have missed. Given the low annual mileage, the brake calipers and suspension bushes should be checked for seizing or cracking due to disuse rather than mechanical wear. Verifying the fluid condition and tyre age is essential to ensure the lack of use has not led to internal failure or safety degradation of consumable components.
