2007 Ford Transit 2.4L Diesel · R25 BAV

The vehicle currently presents a stable roadworthiness status as evidenced by the two most recent MOT tests. The latest inspection, conducted on 28 October 2025 at 172,060 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This follows a clean pass in November 2024 at 168,793 miles, indicating that the vehicle has maintained a consistent standard of mechanical upkeep over the last eighteen months of operation. The recorded mileage of 172,060 miles over 19 years averages to approximately 9,000 miles per annum, which is typical for a commercial vehicle of this age. There is a significant gap in testing data between December 2020 and November 2024, during which only 2,132 miles were recorded over four years. However, the vehicle has seen active use recently with 3,267 miles between late 2024 and late 2025, suggesting a return to more regular service patterns that have not yet resulted in mechanical failures or recorded faults. Despite the clean recent history, a buyer must focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and suspension components. Given the age of this Ford Transit, corrosion on the members and mounting points is a primary concern that MOT tests may not capture until it becomes critical. The failure in November 2020 at 166,541 miles indicates a specific issue existed that was rectified, so a close look at the suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake lines is necessary to ensure no new progressive wear is developing under the high mileage.
