1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 3.0L Diesel · R630 ACV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, showing a clean pass record following previous mechanical failures. The most recent MOT conducted in March 2023 at 233,952 miles resulted in no recorded defects, indicating that the vehicle met all minimum safety standards at that time. This follows a period of instability in 2020 and 2021 where the car failed tests, but the owner has successfully rectified the identified issues to achieve subsequent passing results. The mileage pattern is consistent with a 29-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,000 miles per year. There is a notable gap in records between March 2020 and October 2021, where the vehicle covered only 165 miles over 19 months. However, the usage increased significantly later with 1,819 miles covered between the October 2021 failure and November 2021 pass. The low overall annual mileage suggests that while the vehicle may have sat for long periods, the drivetrain and suspension components have faced relatively low stress during normal operation. A buyer must prioritize a thorough physical inspection of the chassis and structural integrity, as older Land Cruisers are prone to hidden corrosion in the frame rails and mounting points. While the recent MOT was clean, the failures in 2020 and 2021 suggest that specific components like braking systems or emissions equipment required attention previously. Check for signs of perished rubber in suspension bushes and brake hoses, as the low mileage can sometimes lead to material degradation rather than mechanical wear. Since the last recorded test was over three years ago, the current state of these components is unknown and potential new faults may have developed in the interim.
