2014 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Diesel · RA04 CKO

The 2014 Volkswagen Golf presents a stable roadworthiness trend with a clean pass at the most recent test on 9 February 2026 at 159,799 miles. The DVSA record shows four consecutive passes with no defects recorded between December 2021 and February 2026, indicating the vehicle has met statutory standards without advisories across this period. Annual mileage averages around 13,300 miles, which is high for a twelve-year-old car but consistent with steady use rather than neglect. The record jumps from 133,766 miles on 20 December 2021 to 145,901 miles on 9 February 2023, a gap of roughly fourteen months where one test cycle is missing; the owner then settled into a February testing rhythm through 2026. No rapid accumulation or standing-still pattern appears after that point. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the mileage, as MOT passes with no advisories do not confirm component life remaining. At 159,799 miles the Golf is past the point where consumables such as tyres, wiper blades, and exhaust mounts are original, so physical checks of tread depth and corrosion on structural members are warranted. The absence of flagged faults suggests prior owners addressed issues before each test, yet the sparse early record leaves the 2020 to 2021 interval unverified. Treat the clean history as a positive but verify underside condition and drivetrain wear before purchase.
