2020 Hyundai Kona Electric · RE70 OTP

The 2026‑03‑30 MOT at 77,514 miles confirmed the 2020 Hyundai Kona as roadworthy, with no defects or advisories recorded. All previous tests from August 2023 through October 2025 also passed without any reported faults, indicating a stable maintenance record. Mileage has climbed from 44,545 miles in August 2023 to 77,514 miles by March 2026, averaging about 13,000 miles per year, which is high for a six‑year‑old car. The interval between August 2023 and September 2024 saw a jump of 14,937 miles, while the later periods showed more moderate increases, suggesting periods of intensive use followed by slower intervals. A buyer should therefore inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for wear, check that the rear brake calipers are not binding and that the brake discs exhibit even wear, and examine the chassis for structural rust or corrosion, particularly around the wheel arches and underbody. The exhaust system and structural integrity should also be assessed, as high mileage can accelerate deterioration of these components. Although the MOT history shows a clean record, the elevated annual mileage implies accelerated wear on consumables such as tyres, wiper blades and brake pads, so a detailed physical inspection and review of service documentation are advisable before finalising the purchase.
