2002 Jaguar X-Type V6 2.1L Petrol · RJI 4764

The 2002 Jaguar X-Type V6 demonstrates an exceptionally strong roadworthiness status, underscored by a stable and flawless maintenance trend across its most recent testing cycle. In the January 2026 test at 80,091 miles, the vehicle achieved a clean pass with zero defects recorded. This pristine outcome directly mirrors the preceding inspections on January 2nd 2025, May 21st 2023, and April 27th 2022, all of which also resulted in pass certificates without a single advisory or failure. Accumulating just 80,091 miles over twenty-four years equates to an average of roughly 3,337 miles per year, representing very light usage for this model. The chronological data reveals intermittent gaps in the testing timeline, notably between May 2023 and January 2025, which indicates the car may have spent extended periods laid up in storage or driven strictly seasonally. Low mileage profiles of this nature often preserve drivetrain longevity while simultaneously heightening the risk of perished rubber components, seized brake components, or battery degradation from prolonged inactivity. Prospective buyers must perform a thorough physical inspection focusing on age-related perishables rather than recurring historical faults, given the complete absence of recorded defects in the provided data. The subframes, structural floor pans, and sill areas demand careful scrutiny on a ramp to check for hidden corrosion typical of early-2000s Jaguar models. Technicians should also evaluate the suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs for surface rust or stiffness caused by light use, ensuring the low odometer reading translates to genuine mechanical preservation rather than neglected maintenance.
