2007 Volkswagen Passat 2.0L Diesel · RV57 TNZ

The vehicle currently maintains a roadworthy status, showing a stable maintenance trend despite intermittent testing failures. The most recent test in September 2025 at 163,666 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded, following a failure just one day prior. This pattern suggests that the owner is proactive in rectifying immediate issues to ensure the vehicle remains legal, though the recurring single-day failures indicate that components are frequently reaching the limit of their tolerance. The mileage profile is consistent with typical usage for a 19-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,600 miles per year. Between September 2023 and September 2024, the Passat covered 7,297 miles, while it clocked another 7,755 miles in the following year leading up to the 2025 tests. This steady accumulation suggests regular use, which is generally beneficial for the drivetrain and braking components compared to long periods of stagnation, though the high total mileage subjects the rubber bushes and suspension components to significant long-term wear. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the components that likely caused the recent one-day failures, as the record does not specify the mechanical advisories, only the pass/fail outcomes. Given the age and mileage, a thorough check for structural corrosion on the sills and rear wheel arches is essential. The buyer should also inspect the suspension for signs of binding calipers or excessive play in the control arm bushes, as these are common points of failure that trigger MOT failures on this era of Volkswagen platform.
