2007 Buell XB12S 1.2L Petrol · RX07 AAU

The vehicle is currently in a roadworthy state with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT on 27 May 2025 at 6,836 miles resulted in a clean pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a similarly clean result on 23 May 2024 at 6,582 miles, indicating the motorcycle has been maintained to a standard that meets basic legal requirements without recurring mechanical failures. The mileage is exceptionally low for a 19-year-old machine, averaging roughly 360 miles per year. A significant gap in the MOT history exists between April 2015 and May 2024, during which the odometer moved only 3 miles from 6,579 to 6,582. This suggests the bike spent nearly a decade in long-term storage or was rarely used. The failure on 28 March 2014 at 6,252 miles was resolved within two days, showing a prompt correction of whatever minor issue occurred. Prospective buyers should focus their physical inspection on components that degrade during long periods of inactivity. The lack of recent MOT advisories does not account for the condition of rubber components, such as tyre perishing, cracked fuel lines, or dried-out suspension seals. Brake calipers should be checked for seizing or binding, and the fuel system should be inspected for varnish or corrosion caused by stagnant petrol. The low mileage and extended periods of standing make a full fluid flush and a thorough check of the battery and electrical contacts essential. While the MOT record is clean, these specific age-related risks are common in vehicles that have remained static for years.
