2022 Land Rover Discovery SPT Rdyn HSE Dmhev A 2.0L Diesel · RY04 RBY

The most recent MOT test conducted on 28 April 2025 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. Based on this recent data point, the vehicle's maintenance profile appears stable and indicates that the car was in a roadworthy condition at the time of inspection. As the vehicle is relatively young, the lack of recorded failures suggests that the primary mechanical components have been well-maintained or have not yet reached a stage of significant wear. The recorded mileage of 15,792 miles over approximately four years equates to an annual usage rate of roughly 3,948 miles. This is considered very low for a Land Rover Discovery, suggesting the vehicle has been used sparingly or subjected to long periods of standing. While this low mileage means there is less mechanical wear on the drivetrain, suspension bushes, and engine internals, it introduces specific risks associated with infrequent use, such as component stagnation and the degradation of fluids and rubber components due to age rather than friction. During your physical inspection and test drive, you should focus on signs of age-related deterioration rather than high-mileage wear. Closely examine the tyres for sidewall perishing or cracking, as low usage can lead to rubber hardening and loss of grip even if the tread depth is substantial. Check the brake discs for heavy corrosion or pitting, which is common in vehicles that sit for long periods, and listen for any signs of binding calipers or unusual noises from the braking system. It is also vital to verify that the service history includes time-based intervals, as oil and other fluids can degrade chemically even if the mileage remains low. Given the mild-hybrid DMHEV configuration, ensure the 12V battery is in good health, as infrequent driving cycles can prevent the battery from maintaining a full charge. You should also inspect the vehicle for any evidence of fluid leaks from seals or gaskets that may have dried out or become brittle due to inactivity. Finally, confirm that the air conditioning system operates effectively and that there are no unusual vibrations or electrical faults, which can sometimes manifest in vehicles that have not been regularly cycled through their full range of operating temperatures.
