2008 Honda NT700 0.7L Petrol · S13 HGR

This Honda NT700 has maintained a clean MOT history with no defects recorded across the most recent three tests, all of which passed without fail. The last inspection occurred just over a year ago on 27 August 2025, at precisely 1,502 miles—a period well within the standard 12-month MOT validity window. The consistency of these results suggests that, at least in terms of statutory compliance, the vehicle has not experienced any recurring or critical failures during these intervals. However, the absence of defects does not preclude the need for a thorough independent inspection, particularly given the vehicle’s age and the unusually low mileage. The recorded mileage of 1,502 miles at the time of the most recent MOT is extraordinarily low for a vehicle of this age, suggesting either prolonged periods of inactivity or very light usage. Over the span of nearly four years—from 16 September 2022 to 27 August 2025—the vehicle accumulated just 24 miles annually, a rate that implies minimal real-world operation. This pattern raises questions about fluid changes, component wear, and potential degradation from prolonged storage, particularly in areas prone to deterioration such as the battery, fuel system, and suspension components. The lack of mileage progression also means that even seemingly minor wear items—such as brake pads, tyres, or suspension bushes—may have been neglected over extended periods. Given the vehicle’s age and the low mileage, a buyer should prioritise an inspection of high-wear consumables that may have been overlooked due to infrequent use. Focus on the battery condition, as prolonged inactivity can lead to sulphation or complete failure, and verify the fuel system for stagnation or water contamination. The tyres, despite passing MOT tread requirements, should be examined for uneven wear or dry rot, especially if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Suspension components, including bushes and coil springs, warrant close scrutiny, as rubber degradation can occur even without significant mileage. Additionally, check for corrosion in wheel arches, subframes, and exhaust systems, as these areas are particularly vulnerable when a vehicle remains unused for prolonged periods. While the MOT record provides reassurance against overt mechanical failures, the combination of age and negligible mileage necessitates a cautious approach. Independent verification of fluid levels, electrical health, and structural integrity is essential to confirm the vehicle’s true roadworthiness beyond the scope of a basic MOT test.
