2007 Volkswagen FOX 1.2L Petrol · SB57 AEF

The 2007 Volkswagen Fox demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its MOT history, with no defects recorded in five consecutive annual tests from 2020 to 2024. The most recent assessment on 2024-01-22 at 46,555 miles confirmed compliance, indicating consistent maintenance practices. No recurring issues or structural concerns were flagged, suggesting the vehicle has been well cared for over its 19-year lifespan. The absence of advisories or failures implies the previous owner prioritized regular servicing, though low mileage may mask wear on non-rotating components. The vehicle’s mileage of 46,555 miles over 19 years equates to approximately 2,450 miles annually, significantly below the UK average for its age. This suggests either infrequent use or extended periods of inactivity, which can accelerate degradation of rubber seals, fluids, and electrical systems. The MOT records show steady progression, with mileage increases of 1,500–2,000 miles per year, aligning with typical annual usage. No abrupt spikes or gaps in testing were noted, reinforcing the impression of controlled, deliberate maintenance. A buyer should verify the condition of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake components, as low mileage can lead to stiffness or corrosion in these areas. The absence of exhaust or body corrosion in the records is positive, but visual inspection of the underbody and wheel arches is recommended. Additionally, check for fluid leaks, battery health, and steering system play, as these may be affected by prolonged inactivity. The vehicle’s clean MOT history supports its reliability, but physical examination of age-related vulnerabilities remains essential.
