A significant period of inactivity defines this vehicle's history, evidenced by a nearly eighteen-year gap in MOT records between 2008 and the most recent clean pass on 2026-02-11. While the current status is roadworthy, the earlier records from 2006 and 2007 reveal a pattern of critical failures involving structural suspension components and braking system inefficiency. The recorded mileage of 66,563 miles is low for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 1,168 miles per year. This low annual accumulation, coupled with the extensive hiatus in testing, indicates the car has spent substantial time stationary. Mechanically, such usage patterns often lead to the degradation of rubber components, seals, and the potential for seized linkages, regardless of the low odometer reading. Given the history of a dangerous failure regarding the nearside front suspension arm attachment bracket, a physical inspection of the front suspension mounting points is essential to ensure no subsequent cracking or poor-quality repairs. During a test drive, listen for knocks or clunks when traversing uneven surfaces and check for any steering pull that could indicate misalignment or worn suspension bushes. The 2006 record of uneven front brake application and insufficient parking brake efficiency necessitates a thorough check of the braking system. Feel for pedal judder or a spongy response during deceleration and ensure the handbrake holds the vehicle securely on an incline. Additionally, verify the operation of all lighting circuits, as previous failures noted indicators and position lamps being adversely affected by other circuits.
