2012 Volkswagen Touran 2.0L Diesel · SD62 AEK

This Volkswagen Touran presents a stable and unusually clean MOT history for a vehicle of its age. The most recent test on 1 September 2025 at 159,627 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of clean passes dating back to 2022, suggesting a high standard of preventative maintenance or a very disciplined approach to vehicle upkeep. The mileage accumulation is consistent with typical usage for a 14 year old car, averaging roughly 11,400 miles per year. There was a notable increase in usage between September 2022 and September 2023, where the odometer rose from 96,902 to 120,185 miles. A more recent jump occurred between September 2024 and September 2025, adding 20,234 miles to the clock. These figures indicate the car has been used regularly as a primary transport vehicle rather than sitting idle. The absence of advisories over the last five years is rare for a high mileage Touran. The record shows no recurring issues with suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake disc corrosion, which are common failure points for this model. The failure on 19 September 2024 was resolved within twenty four hours, and the lack of detailed defect data for that specific fail suggests a minor administrative or quick-fix issue rather than a mechanical failure. A buyer should still conduct a physical inspection of the underbody for structural corrosion, as MOT testers do not always flag early-stage surface rust. Given the 159,627 mile total, checking the condition of the timing belt and water pump is essential, as these service items do not appear on MOT records. Inspecting the clutch bite point and gearbox smoothness will confirm if the drivetrain has held up under the recent increase in annual mileage.
