2023 Ford Puma ST-Line X Mhev 1.0L Hybrid electric (clean) · SD73 HUK

A spotless MOT record to date gives the 2023 Ford Puma ST‑Line X MHEV its only formal roadworthiness endorsement, with the July 2026 test reporting a pass and no recorded defects. With just a single test on file, there is no trend of recurring advisories or failures to interpret, but the absence of any noted faults means the vehicle has not yet demonstrated any hidden weaknesses under official inspection. At 16,583 miles after roughly three years of age the average annual accumulation sits at about 5,500 miles, well below the typical UK usage pattern for a compact SUV. Such low mileage often points to light‑duty driving or periods of inactivity, which can reduce wear on consumables such as brake pads, tyres and clutch components. However, extended idle periods can also allow moisture to settle in sealed systems and promote surface rust, so a visual check for any corrosion on wheel arches, under‑body panels and suspension mounting points is advisable. Even though the MOT report recorded no defects, a prudent pre‑purchase inspection should still verify the condition of the brake system – listen for any squeal or groan when applying the pedal, feel for pedal pulsation that could indicate warped discs, and ensure the pads have sufficient thickness. Examine the steering rack and front suspension bushes for any looseness or knocking over bumps, and check the tyre tread depth and sidewall integrity, as low‑mileage cars can still suffer from uneven wear if they have been stored for long stretches. Inspect the exhaust manifold and tailpipe for signs of cracks or rust, and confirm that all exterior lights function correctly. Finally, confirm that the battery terminals are clean and the charge holds, and that the engine oil level and quality appear normal, as these items are not captured by a pass‑only MOT but can affect reliability. A short test drive that includes gentle acceleration, steady cruising, and a few moderate cornering maneuvers will reveal any unusual vibrations, steering pull, or audible clunks that might hint at underlying wear not yet flagged by the MOT.
