The most recent MOT examination conducted on 18 November 2025 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a similarly clean result from the previous year, indicating a highly stable maintenance trend. The absence of any recorded failures or warnings suggests that the vehicle has been kept in a condition that meets or exceeds the minimum legal roadworthiness standards without requiring corrective remedial work. With a recorded mileage of 21,547 miles over approximately four years, the vehicle has averaged roughly 5,387 miles per annum. This is significantly lower than the UK national average for a vehicle of this age. While low mileage generally implies reduced wear on the engine, gearbox, and suspension components, it also suggests the car may have spent extended periods stationary, which introduces a different set of mechanical considerations compared to a high-mileage example. Given the clean MOT history and low usage, the primary focus for a physical inspection should be on components that degrade over time rather than through wear. You should carefully examine the tyre sidewalls for signs of perishing or hairline cracking, as rubber compounds harden and lose elasticity when a vehicle is not driven frequently, regardless of the remaining tread depth. Additionally, inspect the brake discs for surface corrosion or pitting, and during the test drive, listen for any sticking or binding calipers that may have developed during periods of inactivity. It is also essential to verify the vehicle's service history to ensure that oil and filter changes have been performed according to the manufacturer's calendar intervals rather than solely based on mileage. Engine oil degrades over time due to oxidation and moisture accumulation, especially in low-mileage vehicles. Finally, check the health of the 12V battery and ensure there are no signs of leakage or terminal corrosion, as infrequent short trips can lead to insufficient charging cycles and premature battery failure.
