2015 Toyota Alphard 2.4L Petrol · SJ02 AGF

The 2002 Toyota Alphard presents a clean and stable maintenance trend, with the most recent MOT conducted on 26 April 2025 at 84,686 miles passing with zero defects recorded. This outcome, combined with four further consecutive passes dating back to October 2019, indicates a vehicle that has been consistently maintained to a high mechanical standard. No recurring faults, advisories, or failures appear anywhere in the record, which is a strong indicator of diligent ownership and proactive servicing. The mileage pattern tells a clear story of light, steady use. Over approximately 24 years, the vehicle has covered 84,686 miles, averaging roughly 3,529 miles per year. The intervals between tests show gradual accumulation: 1,508 miles between December 2022 and May 2024, 2,572 miles between October 2019 and November 2021, and 9,900 miles between October 2019 and November 2021, with the most recent year adding 2,526 miles between May 2024 and April 2025. There are no alarming gaps or sudden spikes in usage that would suggest long periods of neglect or excessive strain on drivetrain components. Despite the clean MOT history, a prospective buyer should still carry out a thorough physical inspection. At 24 years old, structural corrosion remains a legitimate concern on any vehicle of this vintage, particularly around sills, subframes, and suspension mounting points, even if no tester has flagged it. The suspension bushes, coil springs, and shock absorbers should be examined for age-related deterioration, as rubber components degrade over time regardless of mileage. Brake discs, calipers, and flexible hoses deserve close attention, since low annual mileage can lead to surface corrosion on standing components and perished rubber from age rather than use. The exhaust system and catalytic converter should be inspected for corrosion and emissions compliance, especially given the vehicle's age. Tyre condition and date codes are worth verifying, as older tyres with adequate tread can still present a safety risk if the rubber has perished. The clean MOT record is genuinely encouraging, but it cannot substitute for a hands-on inspection by a qualified mechanic who can assess the condition of components that MOT testers may not fully evaluate during a standard test.
