2012 Piaggio Vespa 0.1L Petrol · SJ62 DCZ

The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status based on a clean history of MOT passes. The most recent test conducted on 28 August 2021 at 3,232 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This indicates that the scooter has remained in a consistent condition throughout its documented history, without any mechanical failures or structural weaknesses flagged by the testing centre. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low, averaging approximately 230 miles per year over its fourteen-year life. There is a significant gap in time between the March 2016 test at 2,655 miles and the June 2020 test at 3,167 miles, during which only 512 miles were covered over four years. The further 65 miles recorded between 2020 and 2021 suggest the vehicle is rarely used or was stored for long periods, which shifts the risk profile away from mechanical wear on drivetrain components. A buyer must prioritize inspecting for issues associated with low-mileage storage. While the MOT record is clean, long periods of inactivity often lead to the degradation of rubber components such as perished tyres, seals, and fork boots. Inspect the brake discs for surface pitting and check the fluid for moisture contamination, as stationary systems absorb water over time. Additionally, verify the structural integrity of the chassis for corrosion, as low mileage does not prevent environmental rust if the vehicle was stored in a damp environment.
