2022 Jaguar I-Pace Black Electric · SY22 KGF

This Jaguar I-PACE presents an unusually clean MOT record for a high-mileage example, with both recorded tests passed and only a single advisory across the entire history: an offside rear nail in the tyre noted at the February 2026 test. That test, carried out on 13 February 2026, resulted in a pass, and the preceding March 2025 examination recorded no defects whatsoever. There are no failures, no recurring advisories, and no patterns of corrosion, suspension wear, or brake defects in the official record. The overall trend is stable and favourable, though it must be stressed that two clean tests alone cannot establish that the vehicle has been well maintained or is mechanically sound; they simply show it met the minimum roadworthiness standard on those dates with almost nothing flagged. The defining characteristic here is the usage profile rather than any defect history. At roughly four years old with 73,551 recorded miles, the car has averaged around 18,388 miles per year, which is high for its age and well above the typical annual figure for a UK private car. There are no significant gaps in the testing record, and the mileage accumulation appears consistent rather than showing sudden jumps or long stationary periods. Sustained high annual mileage on an electric vehicle of this weight places considerable load on suspension bushes, dampers, wheel bearings, and tyres, and the I-PACE is a heavy car, so consumable wear at this mileage is to be expected even where the MOT record shows nothing. The absence of advisories for these items is encouraging but should be verified physically, since advisory-free tests do not rule out components approaching wear limits. For a prospective buyer, the one concrete item to follow up is the offside rear tyre flagged with a nail in February 2026. Establish whether the tyre was professionally repaired to British Standard, replaced outright, or is still in service with the repair in place, and inspect the tread depth, sidewall condition, and evenness of wear across both rear tyres. Uneven rear wear on a high-mileage I-PACE can point to alignment or suspension geometry issues, so check the fronts as well and look for feathering or inner-edge wear. On the test drive, given the mileage, pay close attention to the suspension over broken surfaces: listen for knocks or clonks from worn drop links or bushes, and feel for any looseness or vibration through the steering at motorway speed that could indicate worn wheel bearings or tired dampers. Confirm the brakes are free of judder under firm application and that the car tracks straight without pulling. Verify the charging system operates correctly on both AC and rapid DC charging, check the cabin heating and air conditioning perform as expected, and ensure all driver-assistance and infotainment functions work, as these fall outside MOT scope. A battery state-of-health report from a Jaguar dealer would be a worthwhile addition given the accumulated mileage, since the MOT record, while clean, tells you nothing about high-voltage battery condition.
