1989 Toyota NOT Stated 2.4L Diesel · UBZ 6791

The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status, evidenced by a consistent record of clean passes over the last six inspections. The most recent test conducted on 13 November 2024 at 277,125 miles returned no defects or advisories. This continuity suggests that the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard, as there is no evidence of recurring mechanical failures or structural degradation typically seen in vehicles of this age. The mileage pattern is remarkably consistent for a 37-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 7,500 miles per year. Between September 2018 and November 2024, the car covered 3,245 miles, indicating very low-intensity usage patterns. There is a notable gap between the February 2022 and May 2023 tests where only 718 miles were recorded over fifteen months. While this low mileage reduces the mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it increases the risk of rubber-based components hardening or fluid degradation due to inactivity. Despite the clean MOT history, a physical-person inspection must focus on the structural integrity of the chassis and floor pans. Given the 1989 manufacture date, the tester may not have detected surface-level deep-seated corrosion in wheel arches or sills. The buyer should also inspect the suspension bushes and rubber boots for cracking, as these parts often perish due to age regardless of low mileage. Checking the brake system for weeping or seized calipers is also advisable, as low-use vehicles are prone to surface rust on the discs and cylinders.
