2012 Fiat Ducato 2.3L Diesel · V55 GED

An exceptionally clean record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with four consecutive years of MOT passes devoid of any defects or advisories. This stability was last confirmed by a clean pass on 6 August 2025, though it should be noted that the vehicle is currently overdue for its annual inspection. The recorded mileage of 22,265 miles is remarkably low for a 14-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 1,590 miles per year. Such a low accumulation rate suggests the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary or has been used for very light duties. While this results in minimal wear on the engine internals and drivetrain components, it shifts the mechanical focus toward the integrity of rubber seals and the potential for stagnation in fluid systems. Given the absence of recorded faults, the test drive should focus on verifying the smoothness of the drivetrain and the absence of binding in the braking system. Listen for any unusual knocks or thumps from the suspension bushes and coil springs when traversing uneven surfaces, as rubber components can perish over time regardless of mileage. Ensure the steering is precise and free from excessive play or pull, which would contradict the clean testing history. Check for any signs of oil misting or leaks around the engine block and gearbox during a cold start and after a period of idling. While the MOT history shows no structural concerns, a physical inspection of the chassis and subframe for surface corrosion is advisable given the vehicle's age. Confirm that all electrical systems and lighting operate correctly, as low-usage vehicles can occasionally develop intermittent faults due to inactivity.
