2021 Toyota RAV4 2.5L Hybrid electric (clean) · VF21 MWM

An unblemished roadworthiness record defines the history of this Toyota RAV4, which achieved its third consecutive clean pass on August 11, 2026, without a single defect or advisory noted across any of its statutory testing events. This stable performance points to a vehicle that has consistently met the strict safety and environmental standards mandated by the DVSA since it first became eligible for testing. Such an immaculate compliance record demonstrates that critical safety-related systems, from emissions control to structural integrity, have repeatedly satisfied regulatory criteria upon inspection, though a clean MOT certificate remains strictly a point-in-time snapshot and does not guarantee ongoing mechanical durability. Accumulating 36,846 miles over its five-year life equates to an average of roughly 7,369 miles annually, placing the vehicle squarely within typical UK usage parameters. This steady accumulation rate avoids the extreme mechanical burdens associated with intensive fleet usage as well as the potential risks of prolonged inactivity, such as seized brake components or battery degradation, which can afflict low-mileage examples. The consistent annual mileage increment indicates regular, moderate deployment, ensuring that mechanical fluids and drivetrain components have experienced regular operational cycles rather than sitting dormant for extended periods. Because the official records contain zero advisories or failure points, there are no specific recurrent component failures or degradation patterns to target for pre-purchase scrutiny. However, inspecting a modern crossover of this age still demands a methodical physical check of core mechanical assemblies that naturally endure stress during normal driving. During a static inspection, check the underbody for any early surface corrosion on suspension components, auxiliary subframes, and exhaust mountings, while also verifying that all driver assistance sensors and electronic safety systems operate without dashboard warning lights. When you take the vehicle out for a comprehensive road test, pay close attention to how the suspension absorbs road irregularities, listening carefully for any unwanted knocks, creaks, or excessive body roll through tight corners that could hint at premature wear in the anti-roll bar links or wishbone bushes. Test the braking system thoroughly across a range of speeds to ensure the pedal feels firm and progressive without any steering pull, judder, or binding sensations. Finally, evaluate the responsiveness of the transmission and engine across the rev range, ensuring smooth power delivery and an absence of unusual mechanical vibrations from the drivetrain.
