2021 Volkswagen ID3 Tour Electric · VN71 ABV

The Volkswagen ID3 Tour demonstrates a stable and exemplary roadworthiness record over the past two MOT cycles, both tests concluding with a full pass on the most recent date of 2025-11-13 at 45,541 miles. No defects were recorded in either test, indicating the vehicle has consistently met all DVSA requirements for structural integrity, emissions, and functional safety components. The absence of advisories or recurring issues suggests the previous owner adhered to scheduled maintenance intervals, though this cannot be confirmed without service records. The latest test was conducted just under nine months ago, which aligns with the standard 12-month MOT validity period, though it remains well within the acceptable window for a current assessment. The recorded mileage of 45,541 miles over approximately five years—roughly 9,108 miles annually—falls within the expected range for a vehicle of this age and model. There are no significant gaps or abrupt spikes in mileage between tests, as the interval between the 2024-11-27 and 2025-11-13 tests reflects a consistent usage pattern without prolonged periods of inactivity. While this does not preclude underlying wear, the lack of MOT failures or advisories implies the vehicle has not experienced accelerated degradation in critical systems. However, the sparse MOT history means no long-term trends can be established beyond these two data points. Given the clean MOT record, the primary focus for an in-person inspection should centre on high-wear consumables and less frequently tested components. The suspension system—particularly coil springs, bushes, and dampers—should be scrutinised for uneven wear or fluid leaks, as these are not routinely covered by the MOT but can degrade over time. Brake components, including discs, pads, and calipers, warrant close examination for uneven wear or binding, especially if the vehicle has been driven in varied conditions. Additionally, the underbody should be inspected for corrosion, particularly around wheel arches and the sills, as electric vehicles are not exempt from environmental degradation. While the MOT history provides reassurance, a thorough visual and functional check of these areas is essential to confirm the vehicle’s ongoing reliability.
