2009 Fiat 500 1.2L Petrol · VO09 DUV

The 2009 Fiat 500 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the most recent DVSA test on 7 November 2025 at 78,777 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Prior examinations on 28 October 2024 at 70,661 miles and 7 November 2023 at 63,332 miles also yielded clean passes. The sole anomaly occurred on 6 November 2023 when the vehicle failed at 63,330 miles despite no defects being logged; a subsequent pass the next day at 63,332 miles with no defects indicates an administrative rejection rather than a mechanical deficiency. Overall the test history shows no worsening faults and no advisories across suspension, braking, or structural components. Mileage accumulation reflects light use for a seventeen-year-old car. The odometer advanced from 56,904 miles at the 4 October 2022 test to 63,332 miles by November 2023, then to 70,661 miles in October 2024 and 78,777 miles in November 2025. That equates to an average annual distance of roughly 4,600 miles, well below the national norm. Sparse yet consistent annual testing suggests the previous owner maintained statutory compliance without neglecting intervals. No rapid accumulation or prolonged gaps appear; the record remains clean across four years. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of age-sensitive items not always captured in MOT checks. The Fiat 500 of this era commonly exhibits worn front suspension bushes, degraded coil springs, and superficial corrosion on chassis legs despite absent advisories. Examine brake discs for lip wear and calipers for binding, though the tests flagged none. Verify exhaust emissions and structural integrity around sills and subframe. The low mileage may mask prolonged standing, so assess tyre sidewall cracking and brake hydraulic condition before purchase.
