2020 Nissan Qashqai 1.3L Petrol · VU70 EWM

The Nissan Qashqai presents a clean and stable roadworthiness record over the past three MOT tests, with no defects recorded in the most recent assessment on 19 June 2025 at 44,006 miles. This consistency suggests the vehicle has been well maintained within the testing parameters, meeting all legal standards for emissions, brakes, lights, and structural integrity. The absence of advisories or failures in any of the three tests—most recently just over a year ago—indicates no recurring mechanical issues or deferred repairs that could signal neglect. For a buyer, this is a positive sign, though it underscores the importance of verifying whether any minor wear items, such as tyres or wiper blades, have been addressed since the last test. The mileage accumulation reflects typical usage for a vehicle of this age, with 7,334 miles per year over six years, totaling 44,006 miles. The most recent MOT in June 2025 shows just 7,707 miles covered since the prior test in June 2024, a modest increase that aligns with seasonal or occasional use rather than heavy daily driving. The gap between the October 2023 test (29,548 miles) and the June 2024 test (36,299 miles) suggests the car may have sat unused for several months, which could mean it was stored or driven infrequently. While this pattern isn’t unusual, it may imply the vehicle wasn’t subjected to consistent high-mileage stress, potentially reducing wear on components like suspension bushes or brake pads. However, a buyer should confirm whether the car has been regularly driven or left dormant, as prolonged inactivity can lead to issues like seized bearings or degraded fluids. Given the absence of defects in the MOT history, a prospective buyer should still prioritise a thorough inspection of consumable and high-wear components. Pay particular attention to the condition of the tyres, including tread depth and sidewall integrity, as the MOT does not test for uneven wear or hidden damage. The brakes should be checked for uneven pad thickness or disc corrosion, especially if the vehicle has been driven sparingly, as moisture buildup can accelerate rust. Inspect the suspension for any signs of oil leaks from struts or worn bushes, and verify the exhaust system for corrosion or loose mounts, as these are common areas where issues develop over time. Finally, a closer look at the undercarriage for surface rust or structural corrosion—particularly around wheel arches and sills—would be prudent, even if the MOT has not flagged any concerns.
