2003 Daewoo Matiz 0.8L Petrol · VX53 AXN

The 2003 Daewoo Matiz last passed an MOT on 2021-09-22 at 68,053 miles, but no defects were recorded. Subsequent tests from 2019 to 2020 show repeated failures and passes without specific issues noted. The vehicle’s MOT history lacks detailed defect reports, making it difficult to assess mechanical trends. However, the five-year gap since the last test raises concerns about its current roadworthiness, as no recent verification of compliance exists. The vehicle’s mileage of 68,053 miles over 23 years equates to approximately 2,959 miles annually, a low figure suggesting infrequent use or prolonged inactivity. This pattern may reduce wear on consumables but increases the risk of component degradation from stagnation, such as corrosion or seized mechanisms. The MOT records show irregular testing intervals, with no clear progression of issues, but the absence of defect details limits analysis of underlying problems. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the suspension, brakes, and exhaust system, as these components are prone to failure in older vehicles. The lack of defect records in multiple tests implies potential oversights in previous inspections. Structural integrity and rust should also be checked, particularly in areas prone to corrosion. The vehicle’s long MOT hiatus underscores the need for a thorough pre-purchase assessment to confirm safety and mechanical soundness.
