2000 Nissan Elgrand 3.3L Petrol · W836 ABA

The vehicle passed its most recent MOT on 2025‑12‑03 at 133,418 miles, confirming it meets current roadworthiness standards. The maintenance trend shows a pattern of alternating failures and passes: a failure on 2025‑10‑23 followed by a pass a month later at the same mileage, and a similar cycle in July 2024. This oscillation suggests either rapid corrective work or inconsistent test conditions, but the recent pass indicates the car is currently stable and roadworthy. From 119,445 miles in July 2023 to 125,403 miles in July 2024 the mileage increased by roughly 6,000 miles in a year, then only 153 miles by 125,556 miles a week later. The jump to 133,418 miles between July 2024 and December 2025 added about 7,862 miles over 17 months, averaging near 5,800 miles annually. The claim of low mileage for a 26‑year‑old vehicle is therefore partially offset by this recent accumulation, reflecting moderate rather than minimal use. Also, a hands‑on inspection of the braking system is advisable—check pad wear, caliper operation, disc condition, and any binding. Examine suspension bushes and coil springs for wear, and look for corrosion on chassis components and exhaust mounts. A thorough under‑body scan for rust around wheel arches and the floorpan is recommended, as age and mileage can conceal structural degradation. Finally, assess tyre tread depth and wiper blades, as these consumables are not reflected in MOT defect records but are critical for safe operation.
