2003 MINI 1.6L Petrol · WF03 MTV

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, evidenced by a clean pass in the most recent MOT conducted in July 2024 at 182,516 miles. The lack of recorded defects or advisories in this test suggests that the previous owner maintained the mechanical and safety systems effectively. While a failure occurred in July 2023, the immediate re-pass just 12 miles later indicates that specific issues were rectified promptly without establishing a pattern of chronic mechanical neglect. The mileage trajectory remains consistent with a 23-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,000 miles per annum. Between July 2021 and July 2024, the car covered 28,422 miles, showing a steady rate of use rather than long periods of stagnation or excessive strain. The interval of 8,089 miles between the 2023 and 2024 tests reflects this typical annual usage, which generally helps prevent the degradation of seals and components often seen with sitting between MOT cycles. Given the high cumulative mileage and age of the MINI, a physical inspection must focus on the structural integrity of the chassis and the condition of the suspension components. Although the recent records are clean, high-mileage petrol Minis are prone to corrosion on the subframes and rear mounting points. A buyer should specifically check for perished rubber control arm bushes, worn coil springs, and signs of leaking brake calipers, as these are common points of failure as vehicles approach the 180,000-mile mark.
