2005 Yamaha BT1100 1.1L Petrol · WG05 DOG

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, having passed its most recent MOT on 21 April 2026 at 34,182 miles with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend appears stable, though the record shows a period of recurring minor issues between 2023 and 2024. The clean result in the latest test suggests that previous advisories have been addressed or are no longer present. The mileage is exceptionally low for a 21-year-old machine, averaging roughly 1,628 miles per year. The data shows very little usage over the last four years, with only 896 miles added between the August 2022 test at 33,286 miles and the April 2026 test. Such low usage often indicates a vehicle that has spent significant time stationary, which can lead to perished rubber components or fuel system stagnation. A buyer should closely examine the front suspension. The tester flagged a light misting of oil on the offside front shock absorber in October 2023 at 33,973 miles, followed by a similar leak on the nearside front shock absorber in October 2024 at 34,010 miles. While the latest test is clear, these recurring leaks suggest the fork seals may be degraded due to age or inactivity. The exhaust system also warrants a physical check. The tester noted a noisy exhaust during both the October 2023 and October 2024 inspections. You should verify if the system has been replaced or repaired, as a noisy exhaust on a bike of this age often points to corrosion or failing baffles. Given the low mileage and age, checking for structural corrosion on the frame and swingarm is essential.
