2005 Audi TT 1.8L Petrol · WG05 KJF

The 2005 Audi TT’s most recent MOT on 2026-03-24 at 111,779 miles resulted in a failure, though no defects were recorded. This follows a pattern of alternating pass/fail outcomes since 2023, with no specific faults noted in the records. The lack of defect details in the latest failure limits actionable insight, but the inconsistency in test results suggests potential lapses in maintenance or unresolved issues. The vehicle’s roadworthiness remains uncertain without further diagnostic checks, as the history does not confirm whether the failure was due to a minor oversight or a systemic problem. The car’s mileage of 111,779 miles over 21 years equates to an average of 5,323 miles annually, significantly below the typical usage for its age. This low mileage could indicate infrequent use or prolonged storage, which may affect components like the battery, fluids, and rubber seals. The MOT records show regular testing every 12 months, with no gaps exceeding six months, suggesting consistent attention to legal compliance. However, the absence of defects in passes from 2023 to 2025 raises questions about whether the vehicle’s condition has remained stable or if issues were overlooked during inspections. A buyer should prioritise a mechanical inspection of the suspension, brakes, and exhaust system, as these are common failure points in older Audis. The lack of recorded defects does not eliminate risks, particularly given the recent failure. Pay close attention to corrosion in the underbody and chassis, as well as the condition of the timing belt and water pump, which are critical but not assessed in standard MOTs. The vehicle’s low mileage may mask wear in these components, so a pre-purchase survey by a qualified technician is essential to confirm its mechanical integrity.
