2020 Ford Kuga ST-Line X Edition 1.5L Petrol · WP70 CWE

This Ford Kuga presents a stable and clean MOT history, with the most recent test on 31 October 2025 at 35,013 miles showing no defects—an outcome repeated across the three available records. The absence of advisories or failures over the past three annual tests suggests the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard, with no recurring mechanical or structural issues. The consistent passing without even minor advisories is rare for a vehicle of this age and mileage, indicating either meticulous servicing or a model known for reliability in these areas. There are no signs of worsening trends; instead, the data implies a well-looked-after example, particularly in critical areas like brakes, suspension, and emissions. The mileage accumulation is notably low for a six-year-old vehicle, averaging just 5,836 miles per year , which is well below the UK average. The gaps between tests are standard (around 12 months), but the slow mileage build-up—from 24,483 miles in November 2023 to 35,013 miles in October 2025 —raises questions about usage patterns. Such low mileage could mean the car has spent extended periods in storage, been used primarily for short commutes, or been part of a fleet with restricted use. While this reduces wear on consumables, it may also mean components like the battery, tyres, or fluid seals have seen less regular cycling, which could lead to unexpected degradation in those areas. For a prospective buyer, the absence of MOT defects does not eliminate the need for a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Given the low mileage, particular attention should be paid to the battery health , as underused batteries degrade faster when left idle. The suspension bushes, coil springs, and anti-roll bars should be checked for dryness or cracking, especially if the car has spent time in damp conditions. While the MOT records show no brake issues, a closer look at brake fluid condition, pad thickness, and disc wear is prudent, as low-mileage vehicles can sometimes develop binding calipers from infrequent use. Finally, inspect the undercarriage for corrosion , particularly around wheel arches and sills, as rust can develop even with minimal mileage if the vehicle was exposed to salt or moisture during storage periods. The clean MOT history is a strong starting point, but these areas warrant direct examination.
