2012 Land Rover Freelander 2.2L Diesel · WU12 GKP

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, having passed its most recent MOT in March 2026 with no recorded defects. The maintenance trend appears remarkably stable, as the car has secured consecutive passes over the last three years. Although a failure was noted just five miles prior to the March 2026 test, the immediate rectification and subsequent pass indicate that mechanical or safety issues were identified and addressed promptly to bring the vehicle back to standard. At 186,193 miles, the vehicle has seen significant use over its 14-year lifespan, averaging approximately 13,300 miles per year. The mileage accumulation is consistent and predictable, with roughly 8,000 miles driven annually between 2023 and early 2026. This regular usage suggests the vehicle has been used for routine commuting rather than sitting idle for long periods, which can often be beneficial for engine health, despite the inherent wear on high-mileage components. Despite the clean record in the recent MOT history, the high mileage necessitates a thorough physical inspection of the suspension system and drivetrain components. A buyer should specifically check for wear on the bushes, shocks, and springs, as these are common points of failure on the Freelander at this age. Additionally, the condition of the brake lines and underbody structure should be verified to ensure no significant corrosion has developed that was not captured during the standard visual inspection.
