2022 Skoda Superb 2.0L Diesel · WU22 PWV

The most recent MOT test conducted on 26 January 2026 resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This follows a similarly clean result from February 2025, indicating that the overall maintenance trend is exceptionally stable. From a regulatory perspective, the vehicle has been maintained to a high standard, passing its last two inspections without any recorded advisories or failures, which suggests a consistent approach to preventative maintenance. The recorded mileage of 106,873 miles for a 2022 vehicle is significantly higher than the UK average, representing an annual usage rate of approximately 26,718 miles. While such high mileage often suggests long-distance motorway use, which is generally less stressful for the drivetrain than urban driving, it inevitably accelerates the wear on all mechanical consumables. The vehicle has now entered a mileage bracket where major chassis and engine components are more susceptible to fatigue and require more rigorous scrutiny than a lower-mileage equivalent. Given the clean MOT history, the buyer must rely on a physical inspection and a detailed review of the service records. It is essential to verify that oil changes have been performed at frequent intervals to mitigate the effects of high-mileage engine wear. During a test drive, the buyer should listen for any clunks or knocks from the suspension bushes and coil springs, as these components often degrade under heavy use. Any steering vibration or instability at higher speeds should be noted as a potential sign of worn suspension geometry or wheel misalignment. Further attention should be paid to the braking system and tyres. Inspect the brake discs for significant lip wear or scoring and ensure there is no shuddering through the pedal under deceleration, which would indicate warped discs. Check the tyre treads for uneven wear patterns that could signal a need for tracking adjustment. Finally, it is critical to confirm whether the timing belt and water pump have been replaced based on the mileage interval rather than the age interval, as neglecting this service on a high-mileage engine can lead to catastrophic failure.
