2007 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Diesel · WU57 SVS

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, following a successful MOT test on 23 September 2025 at 143,584 miles. While the record shows a failure just three days prior to that pass at the same mileage, the subsequent pass with no recorded defects suggests the specific issue identified was minor and rectified immediately. The lack of recurring advisories across the last three successful tests indicates that the vehicle has been maintained to a standard that meets minimum safety and emissions requirements. The mileage pattern is consistent with a nineteen-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 7,500 miles per year. Data shows a steady progression of roughly 10,000 miles between September 2023 and October 2024, and another 10,000 miles between October 2024 and September 2025. This regular usage suggests the car has not sat stationary for long periods, which is generally beneficial for rubber seals and mechanical components. The intervals between tests indicate a proactive approach to annual compliance. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and mounting points, as the age of the vehicle often invites hidden corrosion. Although the MOT history is clean of defects, the high mileage warrants a close look at suspension bushes and coil springs for wear. Given the recent failure in September 2025, verifying the condition of the brake discs and calipers for binding is advisable to ensure the fault that caused the initial failure was not merely masked but properly resolved.
