2011 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2.1L Diesel · WV61 AEA

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2025-11-01 at 62,547 miles recorded a pass, but the prior test on 2025-10-28 at the same mileage failed without defects. This inconsistency suggests potential issues with testing accuracy or unresolved minor faults. Earlier failures in 2022 and 2020 also showed no defects, indicating a pattern of unexplained test outcomes. While the latest result is positive, the lack of detailed defect records limits confidence in the vehicle’s mechanical stability. The recorded mileage of 62,547 miles over 15 years equates to approximately 4,170 annual miles, significantly below average for a commercial van. Notable gaps exist between 2020-12-14 (55,134 miles) and 2022-01-11 (62,342 miles), reflecting a 7,208-mile increase over 13 months, followed by no mileage change until 2025. This stagnation raises concerns about prolonged inactivity, which can accelerate corrosion, fluid degradation, and component stiffness, particularly in systems like the braking or suspension. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension for worn bushes or coil springs, as low mileage often masks hidden wear from infrequent use. Brake components, including calipers and discs, warrant scrutiny due to potential binding from disuse. Structural integrity checks are also critical, given the age and the absence of recorded corrosion issues, which may have been overlooked. The lack of detailed defect data in MOT records underscores the need for a professional mechanical examination to confirm the vehicle’sTrue condition.
