2003 Mitsubishi EVO 8 2.0L Petrol · WX03 WYJ

The most recent MOT on 2026-03-19 shows the vehicle passed with no defects recorded at 65,120 miles—identical to the reading on the previous test just three months prior. The MOT history is consistently clean, with five consecutive passes spanning over five years, including three recent annual tests with zero defects. There is no evidence of recurring issues in the official records. Mileage has increased by only 78 miles over the past five years (from 64,842 to 65,120), averaging just 16 miles per year in that period. While this low usage suggests minimal wear, it may also indicate long periods of inactivity, which can cause dry-rotted seals, seized components, or battery degradation—even if the car passes MOT. The lack of defects in the latest tests is reassuring, but it does not rule out hidden issues linked to infrequent use or extended storage. Mechanical components like brake calipers, suspension bushes, fuel lines, and the clutch may degrade from lack of use rather than wear. A buyer should inspect the car in person, prioritising: - Fluid condition and leaks (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission oil), especially for signs of contamination or age-related breakdown. - Tyre condition and age (check manufacturing dates on sidewalls), as rubber hardens over time regardless of tread depth. - Brake system operation—test for pedal feel, pull, and unusual noises under real-world braking.
