2009 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Diesel · X21 CST

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a clean record over the last several years. The most recent inspection on 17 December 2025 at 102,105 miles passed with no defects recorded, indicating that the car currently meets the minimum safety standards. While a failure occurred on 02 January 2025 at 99,047 miles, the immediate pass on the same day suggests the owner addressed the necessary repairs promptly without further delay. The mileage pattern is consistent with a low-useage vehicle of its age, averaging approximately 6,000 miles per year. Between January 2023 and January 2024, the car covered 5,446 miles, while it saw a higher increase of 9,106 miles between January 2024 and December 2025. This steady, low accumulation reduces the wear on drivetrain and engine components, though the 17-year age of the vehicle means that rubber-based components and fluid degradation are more likely to suffer from age-related failure than a more frequently driven car. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis and suspension mounting, as the MOT record shows no history of corrosion or mechanical advisories. Given the low mileage, it is vital to check for perished suspension bushes or leaking dampers which can dry out over time rather than through use. Inspect the brake discs for signs of glazing or pitting, as infrequent use can sometimes lead to surface corrosion despite passing the test without recorded defects.
