2001 Audi A6 2.4L Petrol · X616 BDY

The vehicle’s most recent MOT on 2021-11-03 at 104,450 miles recorded a pass with no defects, but this test predates the current date by over five years. No subsequent MOT entries exist, leaving a critical gap in assessing recent maintenance trends. The absence of data post-2021 prevents confirmation of whether the car has remained roadworthy or developed issues requiring attention. The lack of recorded defects in prior tests does not guarantee current compliance, as mechanical components degrade over time without active monitoring. The vehicle’s mileage of 104,450 miles over 25 years equates to approximately 4,178 miles annually, significantly below average for its age. This low usage suggests prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate corrosion, fluid degradation, and rubber component failure. Notably, the 2019-11-05 test at 103,135 miles passed without defects, but the subsequent 2019-11-02 test at 103,119 miles failed without recorded issues. Such inconsistencies, paired with the five-year gap since the last MOT, indicate potential lapses in maintenance or unaddressed underlying faults. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can mask hidden fatigue in these components. Brake systems, including calipers and discs, require scrutiny for corrosion or binding, given the lack of recent testing. Structural integrity, particularly around the chassis and body panels, should also be evaluated for rust, as prolonged inactivity increases vulnerability. The absence of recorded defects does not preclude these risks, underscoring the need for a professional mechanical inspection before purchase.
