The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status based on a clean record across its two most recent inspections. The latest test conducted on 24 April 2024 at 12,588 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This follows a successful pass in April 2023, indicating that the primary mechanical and safety components have met minimum legal standards without recorded failures. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 26-year-old motorcycle, averaging approximately 484 miles per year. Between the April 2023 and April 2024 tests, the vehicle covered only 221 miles. This minimal usage suggests the bike is frequently stored or sits for long periods. While this reduces mechanical wear on the engine, drivetrain, and gearbox, it often introduces risks related to the degradation of rubber components and fluids that an MOT test cannot detect. A buyer must perform a thorough physical inspection focused on components affected by age and stasis rather than mileage. Priority should be given to checking for perished brake lines, cracked fuel hoses, and leaking fork seals, as these often fail regardless of low travel. The frame should be inspected for surface corrosion or pitting, and the brake calipers should be checked for seized pistons due to lack of use. Additionally, the age code on the tyres must be verified, as the compound likely loses integrity over time despite remaining tread depth.
